SUPREME COURT ENHANCES RELIEF FOR CONFLICT-AFFECTED CSE/UPSC CANDIDATES FROM MANIPUR
New Delhi | May 17, 2024

In a notable development today, the Supreme Court of India has enhanced the relief granted by the High Court of Delhi regarding the CSE/UPSC 2024 candidates from conflict-affected areas of Lamka and Kangpokpi in Manipur. This decision comes in response to a Special Leave Petition (SPL) filed earlier by the Zomi Students’ Federation (ZSF) at the apex court of the country.
The Supreme Court's ruling modifies the previous order issued on March 28, 2024, by the High Court of Delhi. The new directive stipulates that candidates from the conflict-affected regions of Lamka and Kangpokpi are to receive Rs 3000 per day for their food and accommodation expenses. Additionally, these candidates will also be reimbursed according to the State Bus Fare rate for their transportation expenses to their designated examination centers outside Manipur.
Candidates who wish to avail themselves of this benefit must contact the designated nodal officer, shortly to be notified. They should send their requests to the email address that will be provided by the Counsel of Manipur. The candidates may also contact the Zomi Students’ Federation (ZSF), GHQ Information Centre for assistance in this regard.
This enhanced support from the Supreme Court is aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by CSE candidates from the conflict zones in Manipur, ensuring they have the necessary financial support to continue their education and participate in various examinations and related activities without undue financial burden.
